We’ve been a bit MIA lately trying to get things organized for our pageant October 8th, but we are back and in full pageant mode—just in time for the crowning of our new Miss America, Cara Mund from North Dakota!
Here’s what has happened since our last update!
MISS INDIANA WEEK
Although Team Anchor did not walk away with the state crowns, we could not be more proud of our amazing titleholders for their performances during the week. Demie and Lily were absolutely stunning, as were South Bend titleholders Grace and Chloe. Grace was even first runner-up to Miss Indiana, Haley Begay!
Demie’s prelims started with evening gown and swimsuit on Wednesday, followed by talent on Thursday, and onstage question (OSQ) on Friday.
Lily started her areas of competition with activewear on Wednesday, talent on Thursday, and ending the week with evening gown and OSQ on Friday.
They were absolutely stunning on stage and we are so very proud of them. They will forever be Miss Indianas in our eyes!
EXCITING CHANGES
Quinn Porter has come aboard as co-director of the Miss Great Lakes Pageant! We are so thrilled to have him with us. Fun fact–Quinn is one of the youngest local directors in the entire Miss America organization!
Speaking of new directors, we are still going to be holding our pageant with the Miss South Bend crew (Go Team Anchor!), and with that comes the exciting news that Kayzie Priebe Weedman is now the new Miss South Bend Director! Kayzie was Miss Ball State 2015, and had originally signed on as our Outstanding Teen director. However, SB Directors Grant and Ellie Patton have made the decision to move back to Ellie’s home state of Idaho and it was a smooth transition to hand the reins over to Kayzie! We are going to miss Grant, Ellie, and little Landon so very much, but we are excited to see what the future has in store for Miss South Bend and Miss Great Lakes! We will be working as a team (Team Anchor, of course) to work with all 4 of our titleholders and become a force to be reckoned with!
